Yes, it is illegal to have an abortion in Trinidad and Tobago.
According to section 56 of the Offences Against The Person Act, any woman with child who attempts an abortion or any person who attempts to perform an abortion on a woman can be imprisoned for four years. Further, according to section 57 of the Offences Against the Person Act, any person who supplies the poison or noxious thing or instrument that he or she knows is intended for an abortion can be imprisoned for two years.
