As we look on at the protests taking place across the United States, some of us in T&T may want to participate in a local public protest or demonstration as a sign of solidarity. But what exactly are our rights as it relates to protesting in T&T?
In T&T, there are TWO main ways to end a marriage - by annulment and by divorce.

A marriage or common law relationship may start with a happy blissful beginning but it may become abusive over time. What if the wife is being forced to have sexual intercourse with her husband - can she do something about it? Is it against the law?
The incidence of rape and sexual assault in T&T is an issue with which we should all be concerned. In July 2019, the Rape Crisis Society of Trinidad and Tobago indicated that they noticed an increasing trend since 2016 - with 3 per cent more of their clientele reporting rape, sexual violence and domestic violence. We've even seen a local soca star recently charged with attempted rape and grievous sexual assault.
So what is the definition of rape and the definition of sexual assault in T&T and what penalties can one face if he or she is found guilty?
